 The
D-Link DSM-320 Wireless Media Player unites your network with your home entertainment
center, allowing you to share, access, and enjoy your digital media-whether it

Setting up the DSM-320 Wireless Media Player is simple, and the sleek design makes
it a natural addition to your home entertainment center. Audio Video (AV) jacks
on the back panel of the DSM-320 can be plugged directly into your TV, letting
you access digital media content stored on your PC, browse your music files, watch
your videos, and display your photos. In addition, the DSM-320 lets you access
online media contents such as Radio@AOLTM on your TV through an existing broadband
Internet connection.

with other UPnP AV media devices seamlessly. The DSM-320 Wireless Media Player
supports and streams virtually all audio, video, and image formats stored on your
PC. With support for MP3, WMA and WAV audio files, listen to all of your music
on your stereo. Watch your stored videos in MPEG1/2/4, AVI, QuickTime or Xvid
format on your TV or enjoy slideshows of your favorite photos in JPEG, JPEG2000,
TIFF, GIF, BMP or PNG formats. Better yet, it’s easy to access all your media
files through the TV Interface using the remote control included with the DSM-320.

| This media players works great once you iron out all the software problems. I had to remove my codec pack and install the tversity server software, with its own codec pack, and fddshow, and upgrade the firmware, once you do this the player works perfect, no dropped frames, no lag or sync problem. Tversity's ability to transcode on the fly is excellent, I have very few videos that I cannot play. I have not tested its wireless features as it only uses WEP encryption which is the dsm320s biggest fault. Ethernet is faster anyway. |

| Not a bad product for the money, but I would not recommend it if you want to stream video wirelessly. I purchased this to stream media from my bedroom PC to my living room entertainment center. The wireless feature works fine for audio, but does not carry enough bandwidth to stream video. The ethernet networking works fine for video, so I ended up running a Cat5 cable to use the video feature. I replaced the factory software with TVersity and was able to stream some video and Internet radio stations from the web. |

| Crappy Product.
To make it worse, D-Link tech support and customer service is extremely poor! You'll need to pay for shipping a DEFECTIVE piece back to D-Link even if the product was FAULTY in the first place. |

| Works great, was easy to set up. Best luck so far with Xvid .avi files. Was at least $60 cheaper at Tiger than anywhere else I could find. Way to go guys. |

| My conclusion? Well, the DSM-320, as it is now, is going back to the store. This network device is not ready for consumer market yet, although the idea is brilliant. I've already downloaded an update for the server and a new firmware for the player, but I have no idea of how long it will be before a decent version is up. I'll toy around with alternatives to stream MP3 from my desktop to AV receiver and control the media with my Pocket PC. I think the Bluetake Hi-Phono Bluetooth Audio Kit plus the Rudeo Control for Pocket PC will have to do for now. I will try and find a solution for image streaming somewhere else. Perhaps the Microsoft Windows Portable Media Center?
