This chart explains some terms used in CompUSA's Technology Assurance Programs. The features are explained in more detail in the TAP Handbooks, sometimes with different names associated with the features.
Some features of the Gold, Silver and Platinum plans go above the basic comprehensive coverage. These additional features are not specifically mentioned in the handbooks. Unless specified as "Home Electronics" the chart refers to the first TAP Handbook listed below.
While this chart provides a summary of some TAP terms, it does not take the place of the official TAP handbook. If there is any discrepancy between this chart or our web site and the TAP Handbooks, the TAP Handbooks will govern.
TAP Handbook
These terms and conditions cover computers, notebooks, printers, CRT and LCD monitors, cameras, PDAs, and peripheral products.
TAP Home Electronics Handbook
These terms and conditions cover DVD Players/Recorders, DVR/PVR, Home Theater, Receivers, Remote Controls, Speakers, LCD TVs, Plasma TVs, Projection TVs, and Tube TVs.

During the term of the manufacturer's warranty, service calls at your home or office may be scheduled only after authorized by the manufacturer. On-site service calls are available in most states. Customers who live beyond CompUSA service areas may be required to ship their product to a service center. Also, while most products can be repaired on-site, some may require the controlled environment of a factory-authorized service center. In both cases, shipping costs are covered by your TAP plan. |

If a portion of the work must be done at the repair center, you will be reimbursed for transportation to the service center.
