Year 2000 Project:
In the fall of 1996, CompUSA formed its first Year 2000 project group. At that time, we began analyzing all of our internal computer systems to determine what, if any, changes were needed in order to become Year 2000 ready. Last year, we dedicated a team of Programmers and Quality Control analysts to evaluate, reprogram, debug, and test our internal business systems. This effort is well underway and we anticipate completion well in advance of the millennium date change. This year, we are addressing our store systems in the same manner, and we similarly anticipate completing the store systems analysis prior to the millennium date change.
In addition, CompUSA has initiated a corporate-wide Year 2000 Task Force. This team consists of key personnel from every functional area of the corporation, including representatives from our senior management group. The Task Force will engage in a number of activities, including the contacting of vendors, suppliers, EDI trading partners, financial institutions, and other business partners in an effort to confirm their Year 2000 compliance activities.
Products and Services:
With the exception of CompUSA PC computers, CompUSA makes no Year 2000 representations or warranties with respect to any product or service sold or provided by CompUSA.
